Summary:Described herein are methods for the use of pharmaceutical compositions containing human interferon-? in the stimulation of erythropoieses. The invention relates to low doses of interferon-? in the stimulation of erythropoietic disorders which are characterized by a lack of mature red blood cells. Therapeutic applications are directed toward the treatment of human patients suffering from such disorders in which progenitor blood cells lack the ability to mature to red blood cells. Methods are provided for the administration to the patient of an erythropoietic effective amount of human interferon-?.
Abstract:Interferon-beta, preferably in low doses, is used for stimulation of erythropoiesis in disorders characterized by lack of maturation of progenitor blood cells to red cells.
