Stem Cell Related Patent Number US5130144
Title: | Human stem cells and monoclonal antibodies | Inventors: | Civin, Curt I.; Baltimore, MD, USA | Summary: | Described herein is a method of transplanting human stem cells via the use of monoclonal antibodies against the My-10 antigen which are expressed on the blast cells of acute leukemia patients. The invention relates to monoclonal antibodies that recognize a stage-specific antigen on immature human marrow cells, and methods by which these antibodies may be used in the isolation of cell suspensions from human blood and marrow. Further disclosed are properties of cell suspensions containing human pluripotent lympho-hematopoietic stem cells. Therapeutic applications are directed toward bone marrow transplantation. This invention represents a continuation of other applications filed by the same assignee and inventor. | Abstract: | Monoclonal antibodies that recognize a stage-specifc antigen on immature human marrow cells are provided. These antibodies are useful in methods of isolating cell suspensions from human blood and marrow that can be employed in bone marror transplantation. Cell suspensions containing human pluripotent lympho-hematopoietic stem cells are also provided, as well as theraputic methods employing the cell suspensions. | US Patent Website: | Click Here for Full Text of Patent | Title Number: | US5130144 | Application Number: | US1991000673721 | Date Filed: | 22/03/1991 | Date Published: | 14/07/1992 | Assignee: | The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, USA |
