Summary:Described herein are methods of treating connective tissue damage via the use of culturally expanded purified human marrow-derived mesenchymal cells. The invention relates to various processes and materials for expanding purified human mesenchymal stem cells and administering the cells to an area of connective tissue damage under suitable conditions. Therapeutic applications are directed toward the repair of skeletal and other connective tissue injuries and disorders. This invention represents a continuation of other applications filed by the same inventors.
Abstract:The present invention is directed to various processes and devices for utilizing isolated and culturally expanded marrow-derived mesenchymal cells (i.e. mesenchymal stem cells) for treating skeletal and other connective tissue disorders.
