Stem Cell Related Patent Number US5808002

Title:Stem cell factor receptor-(c-kit)-specific monoclonal antibody A3C6E2
Inventors:Buhring, Hans-Jorg; Tubingen, Germany
Summary:Described herein is a monoclonal antibody and the associated specific human stem cell factor receptor. The invention relates to the monoclonal antibody A3C6E2 which binds specifically to a human stem cell factor receptor, such that the monoclonal antibody is produced by the hybridoma A3C6E2 (DSM 2247). Methods of production are elucidated, including techniques for the separation of cells by column chromatography and fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS). Therapeutic applications are included for the treatment of a variety of diseases, including the modification of the sensitivity of patients to cell cycle-specific chemotherapeutic agents by administration of the antibody described herein.
Abstract:The present invention relates to a monoclonal antibody that binds specifically to a human stem cell factor (SCF) receptor. The invention further relates to hybridoma cells that produce such an antibody, and to a method for generating such hybridoma cells.
