Inventors:Scadden, David T.; Weston, MA, USA
Summary:Described herein is a selection technique for a population of mammalian cells which contains quiescent pluripotent hematopoietic progenitor cells and which is substantially free of mature, myeloid and lymphoid cells. Further disclosed are properties of the quiescent pluripotent progenitor cells and methods of their use. Therapeutic applications are included for the re-population of human bone marrow such as in the treatment of leukemia.
