Summary:Described herein is the novel prostate stem cell antigen protein, PSCA, and methods of its use in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, the production of vaccines or the generation of antibodies for use in assays. The invention relates to a novel prostate cell-surface antigen, designated PSCA, which is widely over-expressed across all stages of prostate cancer, bladder cancer and bone metastasis of prostate cancer. Claims of the invention include methods by which antibodies specific to PSCA are used in the diagnosis and treatment of these cancers. This invention represents a continuation of other applications filed by the same assignee and inventors.
Abstract:The invention provides a novel prostate cell-surface antigen, designated Prostate Stem Cell Antigen (PSCA), which is widely over-expressed across all stages of prostate cancer, bladder cancer and bone metastasis of prostate cancer. Antibodies specific to PSCA are used for diagnosis of these cancers.
