Title:Composition and method for preserving progenitor cells
Inventors:Moore, Jeffrey G.; Kennebunkport, ME, USA
Summary:This invention introduces pylartin proteins which preserve progenitor cells, methods and uses thereof. Described herein is a protein material which is effective in preserving progenitor cells, such as hematopoietic progenitor cells, whether in vitro, in vivo or ex vivo. Further disclosed are heterodimers and multimers of the protein, as well as corresponding amino acid sequences and molecular weights. Therapeutic applications include gene therapy, improved engraftation, and hematopoietic therapies in cancer treatment as well as in the treatment of hematologic diseases, such as myeloablation in the treatment of cancer wherein myeloid reconstitution is facilitated by the protein.
