Title:Nucleic acid encoding MIP-1fpa Lymphokine
Inventors:Kwon, Byoung Se; Carmel, IN, USA
Summary:Described herein is a novel isolated and purified cDNA designated L25G25B encoding the mouse lymphokine macrophage inflammatory protein 1 alpha, methods and uses thereof. The invention relates to the full-length isolated and sequenced cDNAs, L2G25B and 4-1BB, such that the cDNA L2G25B encodes for the lymphokine macrophage inflammatory protein-1?a or MIP-1?a, and the cDNA clone 4-1BB is described as an inducible receptor-like sequence found in both cytolytic and helper T-cells. Properties of MIP-1?a and MIP-? include their ability to modulate early myeloid progenitor cell proliferation, while recombinant proteins have been produced for the cytokine, L2G25BP. Therapeutic applications include the myelosuppressive activity of rmuMIP-1?a in vivo.
