Stem Cell Related Patent Number US6475481
Title: | Purging of stem cell products | Inventors: | Talmadge, James E.; Bellevue, NE, USA | Summary: | Described herein are methods of purging tumor cells from a hematopoietic stem cell product by cultivation with a replication-deficient non-integrating adenovirus. The invention relates to a process for purging stem cell products of tumor cells and for treatment by myeloablative therapy and stem cell rescue using a purged product. Further disclosed are methods by which tumor cells are purged from a hematopoietic stem cell product having between approximately 2?107 and 3?108 nucleated cells/ml (NC/ml). Also provided are methods of co-incubation of the stem cell product with a replication-deficient, non-integrating adenovirus (rAd) at a particle number, namely, a nucleated cell (PN:NC) ratio of approximately 2,500:1 to 250,000:1 for approximately 4 to 24 hours. Therapeutic applications emphasize treatment of an individual with a disease by myeloablative therapy and stem cell rescue. | Abstract: | Methods for purging stem cell products of tumor cells and for treating an individual having a disease which is treated by myeloablative therapy and stem cell rescue using a purged product are provided. | US Patent Website: | Click Here for Full Text of Patent | Title Number: | US6475481 | Application Number: | US1998000193599 | Date Filed: | 17/11/1998 | Date Published: | 05/11/2002 | Assignee: | Canji, Inc., San Diego, CA, USA |
