Inventors:De Luca, Michele; Ardea, Italy
Pellegrini, Graziella; Ardea, Italy
Summary:Described herein are methods of producing laminae of human epithelium cornea in vitro via the preparation of a fibrin substrate and limbar cornea cell cultures. Methods are described by which the laminae of human epithelium corneae are reconstructed in vitro from cultures of limbar stem cells. Further disclosed are methods of selecting and transferring such cells to the fibrin substrate, within a ring compatible with the human cornea size. Therapeutic uses in grafts are included.
Abstract:A method of reconstructing laminae of human epithelium corneae in vitro to be used in grafts from cultures of limbar stem cells as well as a method of selecting and transferring such cells to fibrin substrate.
