Title:Hematopoietic differentiation of human embryonic stem cells
Inventors:Kaufman, Dan S.; Madison, WI, USA
Thomson, James A.; Madison, WI, USA
Summary:This invention describes a method of obtaining human hematopoietic cells from human embryonic stem cells using mammalian stromal cells. The invention relates to a method of exposing a human embryonic stem cell culture to mammalian hematopoietic stromal cells, thereby producing human hematopoietic cells. Methods and materials are included, as are therapeutic applications such as in the transfusion and transplantation of human cells into a human recipient host.
