Stem Cell Related Patent Number US6630143

Title:Antibodies against flt3 ligand
Inventors:Lyman, Stewart D.; Seattle, WA, USA
Beckmann, Patricia M.; Poulsbo, WA, USA
Summary:Described herein are novel antibodies specifically binding to human flt-3 ligand, and methods of their use in immunoassays for measuring the concentration of flt3-L in plasma or serum. The invention relates to ligands for flt3 receptors which are capable of transducing self-renewal signals to regulate the growth, proliferation or differentiation of progenitor cells and stem cells. Further disclosed are anti-flt3-L antibodies encoded by the cDNA insert of vector huflt3/flk-2L (#9-2) in E. coli DH10?a having ATCC Accession No. 69382, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays comprising such antibodies. Therapeutic applications are included, such as predicting the status of a disease such as Fanconi’s anemia or acquired aplastic anemia.
Abstract:Ligands for flt3 receptors capable of transducing self-renewal signals to regulate the growth, proliferation or differentiation of progenitor cells and stem cells are disclosed. The invention is directed to anti-flt3-L antibodies and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays comprising such antibodies.
