Title: | Cord blood-derived activated lymphocytes, preparations containing said lymphocytes as main ingredient and method and kit for producing said preparations | Inventors: | Sekine, Teruaki; Tokyo, Japan
Ito, Kiminari; Hokkaido, Japan
Shimizu, Norio; Yamanashi, Japan
Bamba, Kenzo; Ibaraki, Japan
Yamaguchi, Tomohiro; Saitama, Japan
Kuroiwa, Yasuyuki; Ibaragi, Japan | Summary: | This invention introduces activated lymphocytes that have been isolated from cord blood and proliferated and activated in vitro. Claims of the invention include activated lymphocytes derived from cord blood that are prepared by a process of segregating the lymphocytes from the cord blood, followed by processes of proliferation and activation of the segregated lymphocytes directly in vitro. Therapeutic applications are included, such as in the treatment of cancer, immune deficiency, autoimmune, allergic or infectious diseases. Such activated lymphocytes derived from cord blood are described as being effective for preventing and treating various types of tumors and infection. Therapeutic methods include preparing interleukin 2 or the anti-CD3 antibody with the lymphocytes derived from the cord blood, followed by segregation and proliferating the monocytes in vitro. Specific applications of cord blood-derived activated lymphocytes are described for preventing the recurrence of diseases and promoting the efficiency of stem cells or other organs. | Abstract: | Activated lymphocytes derived from cord blood are excellently effective for preventing and treating various types of tumors and various types of infection. With interleukin 2 and/or anti-CD3 antibody, the lymphocytes derived from the cord blood is prepared by segregating lymphocytes from the cord blood and proliferating the segregated lymphocytes directly in vitro or segregating monocytes from cord blood and proliferating the monocytes in vitro. Also, the cord blood-derived activated lymphocytes can be effectively used for preventing recurrence of the diseases and promoting the take of stem cells or other organs. | US Patent Website: | Click Here for Full Text of Patent | Title Number: | US6692958 | Application Number: | US2001000003539 | Date Filed: | 04/12/2001 | Date Published: | 17/02/2004 | Assignee: | Humantec Ltd., Ibaraki-ken, Japan |
