Summary:This invention introduces a novel method of preparing a human stem cell factor (SCF) polypeptide. Methods are disclosed by which host cells are grown and transformed or transfected with DNA encoding a human SCF. The novel SCFs and oligonucleotides encoding the factors are provided, as are pharmaceutical compositions and therapeutic applications in the treatment of blood cell disorders, such as hematopoietic diseases including aplastic anemia.
Abstract:Novel stem cell factors, oligonucleotides encoding the same, and methods of production, are disclosed. Pharmaceutical compositions and methods of treating disorders involving blood cells are also disclosed.
