Title:PNS cell lines and methods of use therefor
Inventors:Sah, Dinah W. Y.; La Jolla, CA Raymon, Heather K.; La Jolla, CA
Summary:Described herein are methods of producing conditionally immortalized peripheral nervous system (PNS) progenitor cell lines, and uses thereof. The invention relates to dorsal root ganglion progenitor cells, and the means by which such cell lines and/or differentiated cells, which may be clonal, may be used to generate neurons. Therapeutic applications are included, such as in the development of therapeutic agents to prevent and treat a variety of PNS-related diseases, and in the development of assays for the general study of PNS cell development, death and abnormalities.
Abstract:Conditionally-immortalized PNS progenitor cell lines are provided. Such cell lines, which may be clonal, may be used to generate neurons. The cell lines and/or differentiated cells may be used for the development of therapeutic agents to prevent and treat a variety of PNS-related diseases. The cell lines and/or differentiated cells may also be used in assays and for the general study of PNS cell development, death and abnormalities.
