Title:TSG-like gene
Inventors:Kitamura, Toshio; Tokyo, Japan
Morita, Sumiyo; Tokyo, Japan
Summary:Described herein is a TSG-like gene and encoded protein, used to study the differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells and mechanism of bone formation. The invention relates to a gene encoding a novel protein that is homologous to Drosophila TSG and was isolated from a cDNA library derived from the AGM region of a mouse embryo by use of an originally developed cloning method specific to a gene encoding a membrane secretory protein. Therapeutic applications of such a gene are included, such as in the development of drugs regulating immune and hematopoietic functions, and in the treatment of bone disease.
Abstract:A gene encoding a novel protein that is homologous to Drosophila TSG was isolated from a cDNA library derived from the AGM region of mouse embryos by using an originally developed cloning method specific to a gene encoding a membrane secretory protein. This gene is useful in developing drugs that regulate hematopoietic stem cell generation, immune and hematopoietic functions, etc.
