Title:Chemokine alpha 3
Inventors:Ni, Jian; Germantown, MD, USA
Li, Haodong; Gaithersburg, MD, USA
Su, Jeffrey; Clinton, NJ, USA
Summary:Described herein are novel human chemokine alpha-3 polypeptides and polynucleotides, and the DNA (RNA) encoding such chemotactic cytokines. Further disclosed is a procedure for producing such polypeptides by recombinant techniques. Diagnostic assays are provided, such as for detecting diseases related to mutations in the nucleic acid sequences and altered concentrations of the polypeptides, and for detecting mutations in the polynucleotides encoding the chemotactic cytokines, and for detecting altered levels of the polypeptide in a host. Therapeutic applications of such chemotactic cytokines are provided, such as for the treatment of leukemia, tumors, chronic infections, T-cell mediated auto-immune disease, fibrotic disorders, sepsis, wound healing, psoriasis, and in the stimulation of stem cell mobilization. Also included are antagonists against such chemotactic cytokines and their applications in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, auto-immune and chronic and acute inflammatory and infective diseases, allergic reactions, prostaglandin-independent fever, and bone marrow failure.
