Summary:This invention describes a recombinant adenoviral vector containing a transgene, and its uses in producing gutless vectors for gene therapy which are targetable to selected cells and are lacking antigenicity. Further disclosed are novel chimeric Ad-vectors carrying the transgene, or portions of transgenes for stable and efficient gene transfer into diverse cell types or tissues in a CAR- and/or alphaupsilonbeta3/5-independent manner. Also provided are methods for producing such vectors and their use in gene therapy to target a specific cell type or tissue. Fully detailed is a recombinant, double-stranded, adenovirus vector and its properties, as well as the potential therapeutic uses thereof.
Abstract:The present invention provides for novel chimeric Ad-vectors carrying transgene, or portions of transgenes for stable and efficient gene transfer into diverse cell types or tissues in a CAR- and/or αυβ3/5-independent manner. Also provided are methods for producing such vectors and the use thereof for gene therapy to target a specific cell type or tissue.
