Summary:This is a therapeutic method for treating bone-associated cancer in a human patient. Methods are described for parenterally administering a dose of 153Sm-EDTMP by intravenous infusion or injection in an aqueous vehicle comprising an effective antiradiolytic amount of pharmaceutically acceptable radio protectant. Methods comprising the bone marrow transplantation and restoration via stem cell transplantation and/or administration of a colony stimulating factor are also disclosed.
Abstract:The present invention relates to a method of suppressing bone marrow (BM) and treating conditions that arise in or near bone such as cancer, myeloproliferative diseases, autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, metabolic diseases or genetic diseases, with compositions having as their active ingredient a radionuclide complexed with a chelating agent such as macrocyclic aminophosphonic acid.
