| Summary: | This invention describes new glutamyl containing tripeptide and tetrapeptide thioethers, as well as relevant pharmaceutical compositions and methods of use thereof. Further disclosed are therapeutic applications in the treatment of cancer, including the means by which such compounds may be used in the potentiation of the selectively cytotoxic effects of chemotherapeutic agents in tumor cells. Also described are treatments involving the elevation of the production of GM progenitors in bone marrow, the stimulation of the differentiation of bone marrow, the mitigation of the myelosuppressive effects of chemotherapeutic agents, and the modulation of hematopoiesis in bone marrow. |
